At the OWPG Annual Awards Ceremony held at the Medina Valley Centre on the Isle of Wight on 8 October this year, Pertex Ltd were announced as this year’s winner of the Derryck Draper Award for technical excellence for their revolutionary CS10 Technology fabric.

On Wednesday 2 November Dennis Kelsall, former Chairman of the Guild presented the award to Steve Laycock, Brand Director of Pertex at The Bowland Brewery, Clitheroe. This is the second time that Pertex have been presented the award, the first being in 1999.

Speaking about the award the Guild judges said “whereas in general there had been little innovation seen in the outdoors technical market in the past 18 months, the Pertex CS10 technology fabric was truly ground breaking.“

Pertex fabrics with CS10 technology use yarns with unique diamond shaped filaments, which lock together to provide a very stable construction. These tightly interlocking filaments give the fabric superb abrasion resistance along with improved water beading properties.
