OWPG Blether (overview)

With roots as far back as the 15th century, ‘blether” was recently voted one of Scotland’s favourite words and it remains widely used The Scotsman.

So there you have it! The Guild’s new informal Zoom sessions to complement the popular Zoom events in which we’ve already enjoyed presentations from David Taylor on landscape photography techniques and Sabi Phagura on social media skills.

The idea behind Blether is to provide an opportunity for members to chat about their concerns and interests, and to learn from and support each other. In part, it has grown out of discussions at the last two AGMs about the future direction of the OWPG and how we can add more value for members. Those discussions are ongoing and this is a chance to contribute and take them forward.

The intention is that Blether will member-led rather than directed by the committee, whose involvement will be to provide support and encouragement, primarily through the new Blether team of Felicity Martin and Stan Abbott. To provide a focus and starting point for conversation we will ask individual members to suggest topics and to kick off the discussion.

All members are welcome! Pour a cuppa, or something stronger, and come and meet familiar and new faces, (though please try and avoid bringing distractions such as children and pets into the meeting!) Put it in your diary now! Watch out for the Zoom link, which will be forwarded closer to each event.
