Mountain Walking in Mallorca

Paddy Dillon

The rugged Serra de Tramuntana is a World Heritage Centre and a wonderful mountain environment. There are many examples of former rural industries, including quarrying, lime-burning, charcoal-burning and snow-gathering, as well as crumbling old farmsteads, old wells and a network of drystone walls. Old highways and mule tracks crisscross the mountains, allowing walkers to reach the most remote parts. This book offers 50 walks that climb the mountains, or pass between them. The book contains extracts from the wonderfully detailed Editorial Alpina maps of Mallorca, at a generous scale of 1:25,000, with route overlays. According to a local guide, Paddy Dillon made the first ascent, by a foreigner, of Puig d’en Ali!
