A writer & teaching photographer living & working in the Scottish Highlands.
I’m a photo journalist and writer working across the outdoor and environmental sectors, with over a decade of experience creating stories for organisations and magazines including National Trust for Scotland, Visit Cairngorms, John Muir Trust, BBC, the Guardian, Slow Ways, Inkcap Journal, as well as most of the UK outdoor press.
I’m particularly interested in the links between place and people, and between natural and cultural history.
- Author of 3 books - 2 guide books with Cicerone, and 1 photobook with Dusk Press.
- Commissioning editor with The Great Outdoors Magazine: commissioning and editing feature stories from other contributors, as well as administrating the gear reviews. In addition, I write both features and gear reviews for the same magazine.
- Researcher for the BBC Scotland Adventure Show, scouting locations and potential storylines.
- Occasional Columnist for Scotland’s most successful visitor website, Walk Highlands
- Commercial Photographer and teacher/guide, across the Highlands.
