After having travelled to many mountain regions on this planet, I developed a special relationship with the Pamirs, both the Tajik and the Afghan side. The stark, wild landscape combined with the warm, welcoming Pamiri people keeps drawing me back to these magical mountains.
Short Biography
After having travelled to many mountain regions on this planet, I developed a special relationship with the Pamirs, both the Tajik and the Afghan side. The stark, wild landscape combined with the warm, welcoming Pamiri people keeps drawing me back to these magical mountains. I work in the region as a trekking guide and organise trekking and climbing expeditions. I feel this underrated mountain range deserves more and positive attention. That is my motivation to shout my love for the Pamirs from the roof tops by publishing magazine articles. In November 2018 my first trekking guide to Tajikistan was published by Cicerone Press. In September 2020 I published Hiking in Jebel Zaghouan, a guidebook for a small mountain area in Northern Tunisia. Currently I reside in Uganda where I explore the wonderful volcanoes and mountain ranges on foot, by mountain bike and on a paddleboard.
