I am a professional writer and journalist, who has worked as a regular contributor to British national newspapers and magazines. My latest book The Borders: The Lands We Share (Gritstone) was published in early 2025. I am the author of a number of other books, including most recently Back Roads through Middle England: From Dorset to the Humber along the Jurassic stone belt (Gritstone, 2017).  Other outdoor titles have included The Backbone of England: Landscape and Life on the Pennine Watershed (Frances Lincoln, pb 2011). I was the series editor for a collection of books celebrating the arrival in England and Wales of the freedom to roam right to walk at will in open country. The books were published by Frances Lincoln Ltd in conjunction with the Ramblers’ Association and I was the author of five titles in the series. My comprehensive website http://www.andrewbibby.com gives full details of my work.

I am a founder member of the authors' publishing co-operative, http://www.gritstonecoop.co.uk, publishing quality books on the landscape, natural history and the ourdoors.
