A full-time professional writer, illustrator and photographer since 1989, John Gillham is best known for his lavishly-illustrated coffee-table books. His first, Snowdonia to the Gower, has been described as one of the classic books on Wales. Gillham is a regular contributor to TGO, where his series, ‘Way to Go’ appeared every month. John has just completed a 5-book series of illustrated guides to the Peaks of Snowdonia, a project which took him about 4 years to complete.
He has recently written three guidebooks for Cicerone: The Cumbria Way, Hillwalking in Shropshire and The Shropshire Way.

John is the proprietor of Grey Stone Books, a small publisher of outdoor titles.
