Dartmoor National Park

Josephine Collingwood is a photographer, author and designer who lives and breathes Dartmoor as well as the rest of the planet. Her world is made up of rocks (to study, explore and climb), exploration and being out there. Outside is where life is lived, and life is just too short.

Josephine Collingwood is a photographer, author and designer who lives and breathes Dartmoor. She produced and published the Dartmoor Tors Compendium to great acclaim and was asked by the Dartmoor National Park Authority to produce their new official visitor guide; Dartmoor - A Timeless Landscape. Since then she has also designed unique Dartmoor infographics as poster art.  Her latest book, Geology of Dartmoor, takes the reader on a journey through deep time from the origins of Devonian rocks to Dartmoor today.



Back in the 1990s she careered away from geophysics to re-qualify in professional photography. After 20 years of architectural and landscape photography, and a spell producing websites, she now concentrates on books, designs, photography and travel.



Josephine loves to rock climb, hike, MTB and explore landscapes, especially mountains and geological wonders. She also has a love of cold places; she crossed Svalbard hauling a pulk for 10 days in 2019 and has done several expedition trips to Norway.
